About Jard
Originally from The Netherlands, where Jard did his bachelors in jazz at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. For his masters he moved to New York, to further develop his musicianship and craft on the saxophone, at NYU Steinhardt. Jard has 13+ years of playing experience in various big bands, orchestras and small bands and 5+ years of teaching experience, including private teaching and working formerly as a Graduate Adjunct Student Instructor at NYU. Jard has had the privilege of studying under some the greats of today's contemporary jazz scene like: Ben van Gelder, Billy Drewes, Rich Perry, Chris Potter, Dezron Douglas and Tivon Pennicott. Jard currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and has been playing around the New York scene. Besides playing he also composes his own originals and composes film music.

Everyone is welcome, no matter what level you are at! During our lesson will cover all the basics of the saxophone including: how to get a good tone, technique and improvisation skills. Besides establishing a good foundation I like to work on any genres or songs you are passionate about, whether that be a classical piece, a pop or a blues song. Saxophone works great in all kinds of genres! I foster a supportive environment in which you most importantly enjoy the process of learning the saxophone and music.
