About Treydon
I am an undergraduate studying Philosophy at Trinity Western University and Catholic Pacific College in Langley, British Columbia. My academic work focuses on philosophy and theology, especially as they are lived and understood within the Christian tradition. I enjoy working through the major ideas that have shaped Western thought, from ancient philosophy to contemporary debates, and making them approachable for others. Writing and teaching are central to how I engage with these ideas. I have authored two books: Aphesis: The Impossibility of Subjectivity (self-published) and Time: Crown of Eternity (Telosbound Institute). I also write and communicate philosophy and theology to a wider audience through my YouTube channel, which has received over 15 million views. This experience has helped me learn how to explain difficult topics in a way that is clear, concise, and meaningful. I became a tutor because I know how overwhelming these subjects can feel when you’re trying to learn them on your own. Philosophy isn’t just a school subject — it’s a discipline that trains you to think clearly, argue well, and understand the world more deeply. Helping students gain that kind of confidence is something I genuinely enjoy. Whether you’re new to philosophy, preparing for an exam, writing a paper, or looking to explore ideas beyond the classroom, I’m happy to help you move forward. My goal is to support your learning, strengthen your thinking, and hopefully help you discover why these subjects matter.

My approach as a tutor is always shaped by the needs of each student. I can provide broad lessons on major philosophical or theological traditions, or more focused support tied directly to your course readings and assignments.
Lessons typically begin with a clear, 10–15 minute introduction using visual aids to lay out the key thinkers, concepts, and historical context. From there, we shift into deeper study and discussion, working through ideas step by step and connecting them to what you’re learning in class or studying independently. The aim is a genuine conversation that builds real understanding, not memorization for its own sake. However, more focused and structured lessons are also provided, especially students who are studying for specific exams or projects.
Active note taking is encouraged throughout, and I provide structured notes to support your learning. Strong note habits lead to better comprehension and long-term recall, so you will always leave each session with material you can use to review and study confidently.
I work with high-school and university students, especially those studying within a Christian context or those who simply want to engage more deeply with philosophy and theology. I also help with reading strategies, writing support, and learning how to approach complex texts with clarity and curiosity.
