About Edward
I am a 30 year old graduate researcher from Melbourne, Australia. I have a BA in philosophy, an Honours in sociology, and a Masters by Research degree in Sociology. I graduated at the top of my class in honours and received nomination for best honours thesis in Australia for 2021, as well as the Jean Martin Prize for "best empirical study on Australian society". I also won a full pathways scholarship to study a Masters degree.
Fancy degrees and awards aside, I'm actually a bit of a goose. I'm good at making complex concepts and ideas simple. I'm a slow learner, so I am patient with anyone who is grappling with trying to understand or write about a topic confidently.
I planned to dedicate a career to the social sciences, write articles, publish books, give lectures, and meet people who are doing the same.
I'm using Superprof so that I can be more engaged in discussing social science topics with new people, as well as to hone my skills in the communication of such ideas.

My approach is informal, conversational, and based around problem-solving together.
Instead of me unloading a bunch of information onto you like a lecture, we work through problems and topics together so that you can comprehend things in your own mind and in your own terms. It is about developing UNDERSTANDING, rather than KNOWLEDGE (an important philosophical distinction!)
