About Cory
I'm a published game designer and producer, who also has 3 years of experience teaching game design and project management at post-secondary institutions. I also work extensively with Dungeons & Dragons (and other tabletop games) as a hobby. I've also worked with several industry professionals with devising an effective framework for properly communicating the fundamentals of game design theory in a way that can be effectively applied, studied, managed, and implemented.

I believe that a strong understanding of the intellectual process that goes into design is key to working effectively in the long run. Most game development guidance, advice, and instruction focuses heavily on a 'make it first' mentality: you're expected to simply build a lot of things in a short time. While this rapid prototyping approach can be valuable, I find that it fails to really explain to students why certain decisions are better than others or how students can improve their ability to design in a vacuum.

Details
The Free 1-hour session will help determine if we are a good fit, and it seems promising, you can sign up for one or two one-hour sessions.
However, do be aware that really good progress will likely take 10-20 hours of instruction. Less instructional time is required if you work diligently and iterate on your design frequently on your own.
