Blender & Maya expertise in modelling, sculpting, UV's, texturing, rigging, animating, lighting, rendering, compositing, and more.

Tate has come up with by far one of the most unique projects I've ever undertaken with someone, requiring a rather steep learning curve as a result. He's determinedly climbing it, however, and strives to understand every esoteric concept in Blender that we have to delve into in order to see this project through. And it's been awesome.

Although Moritz soon shifted from learning Blender to a more hands on approach for his project, he proved diligent and dedicated when initially learning the software.

Jackie is wildly ambitious with stratospherically lofty goals for a beginner, and yet has managed to pull together an impressively complex scene in a remarkably short space of time all the same. She's persistent, determined, unrelenting, headstrong, and, contrary to what she'll tell you, obviously very, very clever.

Laura has come to grips with the myriad complexities of 3D design and rendering quite well, in a relatively short time span, and is already progressing from jury-rigging old template files to modelling and shading beads and jewels directly.

Guilherme is one of the few students I've had that learns better by rote than by explanation, and does pick up what to do rather quickly as a result. After some repetition and trial and error, he already has a firm grasp of Blender's motion tracking suite and is easily ready move into the 3D side of things.

Adam already has a solid understanding of Blender and only needed a few pointers on how to adjust his scene to his needs.

Volkan's son, Kuzey, has mapped out a clear vision of what he wants to achieve in animation and has diligently and meticulously worked to bring it to life ever since, week by week. He has attained a firm grasp of the fundamentals and is already advancing quickly.

Luke has managed to take himself through the entire Blender production pipeline almost single-handedly for his short film, in spite of Blender's somewhat convoluted rendering and compositing workflow. The only thing he really needs to keep a handle on is not moving in so many different directions at once, as he's liable to confuse himself with overlapping tools and methods.

Gage is progressing well in Maya so far, for a beginner, with his character modelling. He just needed some gaps filled in about how to direct and manage edge flow.

Gray is transitioning quite smoothly from a traditional After Effects and C4D workflow to a Blender one, with an already solid grasp of the interface and its quirks.

Rob has made enormous strides in the time I've had him, mastering Blender's cloth physics system to the point of crafting unique custom designs already. He has achieved a firm grasp of sculpting, lighting, and rendering as well.

Eli learns fast and works faster, making incredible progress on his lunar module in a very short space of time.

Phoenix has quickly grasped the fundamentals of running a freelancer business for 3D work and all the ins and outs of cost analysis, stakeholder involvement, market demographics, taxation rules and regulations, and so on. He could more or less set up business tomorrow, if he wanted.

Amy is full of big ideas and an ambition to match, making every session something of an adventure with her as we work to bring them to life. I look forward to seeing her continuing journey into Blender nerddom over time. We have a badge waiting for her.

Ella is a joy to teach and something I always looked forward to each week. I believe she is much, much cleverer than she gives herself credit for, as she picks up concepts and workflows quite quickly, in fact, especially for a beginner, and recurrently troubleshot problems faster than I did. Considering her main aspiration is architecture rather than game design, I think she should be quite proud of what she achieved the limited time that she did.

Jackie's son, Zachary, has had something of a rough go in the college education system so far, so the fact that he has come as far as he has is a testament to his resolve and dedication. He more than understands well enough the fundamentals, it's just a matter of prodding in the right direction at this point.

Ann is clearly very eager to learn and is quickly grasping the fundamentals of Blender, in order to begin modelling and simulating clothing and cloth physics.

Kirsty did a phenomenal job climbing quite a few steep learning curves in Maya in a relatively short space of time, while juggling a dozen other subjects at the same time. Especially for a beginner. She should be quite proud indeed of what she accomplished, really.

Alexander has progressed very far and very fast in his journey into mastering 3D character work. His topology work is all but perfect and the ancillary elements of texturing, lighting, staging, and rendering is also very well done.

Neil takes meticulous and thorough notes, carefully scrutinising every aspect of the interface so as to ensure he doesn't miss anything before moving on. This kind of diligence will serve him well in familiarising with Blender myriad complexity.

Rob has a clear idea what he needs to learn for the product viz side of his company, diligently working through and taking on board all the nuances of modelling and texturing various product designs. His background in Adobe lends a firm grasp of the fundamentals as well.

Nicole's son, Lyric, picks things up quite quickly and already has a keen understanding of the basics in Blender. He also adeptly recalls what he's learned before with little prompting and only some guidance to get where he wants.

Matthew has a clear vision for what he wants to do and has taken charge of his education to that end. He is diligent, organised, studious, and evidently keen to progress at pace.

Billie has a solid understanding of exactly what she wants to do and the self-reliance and motivation to get there. I am most interested to see where she takes it next.

Christian is coming from a solid background in 2D vector and raster software and it shows. Despite never having done 3D before, the underlying concepts are evidently familiar to him already, just with the addition of a third dimension, and therefore quickly grasped and understood in short order.

Michelle's son, Cameron, is filled with nothing less than boundless enthusiasm for each and every session, and raucous laughter throughout is not uncommon. He's come a long way from having never touched a 3D program, to successfully creating an entire Unity scene with some rudimentary animation and sound effects. It's been a blast teaching him.

Anne's daughter, Lili, is a quick study and takes on board new methods and tools quite ably. With a little more building of self-confidence, she'll go on to do very well in the 3D world.

Tammy's son, Django, is clearly proactive, decisive, observant, self-reliant, and, above all, keen to learn in his pursuit of 3D in Blender. From this early stage I can already tell he'll progress all too quickly.

Adrian commits himself wholly and unreservedly to what he wants to learn, applying himself to each task by studiously gathering a variety of materials in calibrating his learning journey. He is both diligent and patient and has already made excellent progress in a relatively short time.

Ana readily absorbs and internalises everything about Maya and 3D so far, diligently noting down anything else needed as she goes. I sense her to be a quick study and enthusiastic learner and look forward to subsequent sessions together.

Alastair has picked the very nichest of niches as his project, requiring 13 year old versions of software just to maintain pipeline compatibility. Undeterred by these rather steep inclines, however, Alastair has soldiered on all the same and managed to conduct several successful tests of said rapidly ageing pipeline.

Jimi takes diligent notes and, with a little prodding, is able to implement the lessons as they come in practice. With time and dedication, he'll soon be visualising all manner of products in due course.

Will has picked up what are initially actually quite complex principles, in regards to material lighting, shading, ray-tracing, bounce lighting, and procedural texture mapping, with speed and tenacity in kind. His background as a photographer certainly smooths this transition into 3D image capture.

Fergus is only just starting out but already shows promise, with diligent note taking, keen grasp of the fundamentals, and a clear goal laid out in front.

Bina is a highly inquisitive, creative, and thoughtful young woman, who is much harder on herself than need be. She has made remarkable progress in such a short time and is in fact picking up the software at great speed, she need only exercise a little patience with herself and come to grips with her own learning pace.

Hugh is the definition of an adventurer. It doesn't seem to matter how deep, wide, or dark the rabbit hole is, Hugh will swan dive straight in without a second thought. He has a certain "brute force" approach to problem solving as well, but that's merely a matter of experience and familiarity with the tools. I always look forward to the next round of adventures with him each week.

Robert is evidently highly self-motivated and keen to learn all he can. He's clear-sighted and goal orientated about what he wants and I look forward to helping him get there.

Iggy is remarkably self-reliant and self-motivated, making use of any and every software needed to achieve his end goal, no matter how long it takes him to learn it. And I have no doubt he'll get there in the end, one way or another.

Nora appears to have an endless set of projects lined up, a scale of ambition that is always encouraging to see, with a skill and tenacity to match. She's always pushing the bounds of what she can do in Blender and seems to be taking to it like a duck to water. I always look forward to seeing what has in store next.

Keil has a good grasp of the overall motion of an animation and what it should look like, it's just a matter of filling in the details to give it arcs, weight, and depth, all things that come with practise.

Eli is clearly skilled, dedicated, and hardworking, it's just a matter of solidifying his own personal workflow and methodology in product viz.

Luka grasps all the various nuances of 3D with little difficulty, and clearly has an artistic eye and definite idea of what he wants to make.

Mariellen's son, Alex, is an intuitive, fast learning, and highly self-motivated learner. He grasps tools and concepts with equal skill and has no difficulty working independently on his project. I am looking forward to seeing the future unfold.

Suzie's daughter, Sasha, is initially hesitant to ask questions, which can hold her back somewhat over time, but as she builds up her confidence, what emerges is a clearly bright, young girl that quickly picks up the various intricacies that comprise 3D. Like with most things in life, it's really just a matter of building up self-confidence.

Elliot has big dreams with even bigger ambition for those dreams. He also absorbs information like a sponge and is thrilled by obstacles rather than deterred. The only thing he really needs to keep an eye on is pacing himself. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Jackie's son, Ryan, has a crystal clear idea of what he wants to do and exactly how it needs to be done. An obviously whip smart boy with clear aspirations, Ryan has a bright future in game development ahead of him.

Scott is highly self-motivated with a strong background in 3DS Max, making the transfer to Blender a smooth and speedy one. He clearly has a firm grasp of the principles, it's now merely a matter of mastering the new tools.

Papaha is evidently able to take on complex ideas and concepts speedily enough, which is good because he has chosen a project with incredibly specific requirements and hurdles to those requirements.

Peter is obviously keen and determined to learn what he needs to achieve his goals. It's a steep curve in front of him but I believe he'll surmount it in short order.

Abdul is both eager and determined to learn as much as possible as quickly as possible, both excellent qualities. All I can advise at this point is patience, and the rest will come.

Scott is receptive, eager, and keen to learn. He's already made significant headway in making various animated films and demonstrates a quick understanding of the concepts in rigging.

Beth's son, Peter, is an enthusiastic learner with big aspirations and the temerity to match. He doesn't allow difficulty at any level to deter him from making his vision a reality.

Fraser is his own harshest critic, resulting in a dedicated artist with spectacularly high standards and the gumption to match. Every lesson is an adventure in creativity and the truly unexpected.

Tristan is a determined and thoroughly committed student, who strives to master the complexities of 3D art in spite of the challenges he faces in daily life. His fortitude is admirable.

Daniel (Edgar's paying) is an incredibly quick learner. He has only just started but already has a perfect grasp of good topology and character proportions and well on his way to becoming an exemplary character artist.

Joe's two boys are attentive, eager, and quick learners. They'll both go far with Blender.

Sienna both learns and works incredibly fast. Within just a few lessons over a week, she had several well sculpted characters in place, including one remarkably detailed demon/monster. Sienna has all the makings of a diligent and talented 3D artist.

Tim is clearly a dedicated 2D artist who wants to expand his horizons into 3D, which, with a little personal discipline, he is more than capable of doing. Good things await him.

Dedicated, organised, and thoroughly prepared, Peter has every single hallmark of being not only an excellent student, but exceptional 3D artist.

Justin is diligent, dedicated, and keen to learn. He does not shy away from adversity and commits to the task he sets himself with absolute determination. He is going to go far.

Michael learns at extraordinary speed, pushing himself harder to master Maya's idiosyncrasies faster than anyone I've ever seen. My only real advice is patience. Maya can be, and often is, a frustrating program, but Rome also wasn't built in a day.

Plenty of potential here, is just a matter of building confidence in herself and her abilities and practising with the tools over and over.

A quick study and keen to learn, Maria is an enthusiastic and determined student who has a bright future in animation ahead of her.

Excellent foundational knowledge with the propensity to go far, providing maintained consistency in ambition.
