About Teresa
I am an enthusiastic, friendly and motivated tutor with a strong academic background and years of tutoring experience. For me, it is the ability to help others gain a better understanding of a complex argument, or be able to express their ideas more fluently in an essay, that makes the job so rewarding. Hearing the perspectives of so many other people - from young children starting to think reflectively, to A-level students debating about applied ethical issues, and curious adults who have stumbled across a paradox - also provides me with an insight I would not be able to gain by myself or my studies/academia.

Having tutored all the way from 'philosophy for children' (primary school group initiative) to A Level religious studies, and IB and undergraduate level one-to-one philosophy, I am confident tailoring my teaching style to the student's ages, abilities and needs. This is where my years of childcare experience and volunteering at a charity for special needs young people are particularly valuable. With my academic background and tutoring experience primarily in philosophy, my approach to teaching is centred on discussion and debate, with a view to developing conceptual understanding, and improving formal/exam techniques such as essay writing and logic comprehension (where applicable).
