About Gina
My name is Gina, and I am a friendly, patient and supportive tutor with professional experience working with young children and families. My background includes working as a Nursery Assistant and Family Support Worker, which has given me a strong understanding of early childhood development, learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
I understand that every child learns differently, so I take the time to get to know each child's personality, confidence level, strengths and areas where they may need a little extra support. I aim to make learning enjoyable and encouraging rather than something children feel pressured or anxious about.
I particularly enjoy supporting children in the Early Years and Reception stages, including children preparing to start school or those who would benefit from additional practice with phonics, early reading, writing and maths.
Parents can expect me to be reliable, approachable and encouraging, with lessons tailored to their child's individual needs. My goal is for every child I work with to finish their lesson feeling proud of what they have achieved and increasingly confident in their own abilities.

My lessons are warm, patient and child-led, designed to help young children feel confident, comfortable and excited about learning. I mainly support children from Early Years through to Reception/Year 1, typically ages 3–6, adapting each lesson to the child's individual ability, interests and learning style.
I use a mixture of play-based learning, phonics activities, stories, games, visual resources and practical activities to keep children engaged. Depending on your child's needs, lessons can focus on:
* Phonics and letter sounds
* Early reading and comprehension
* Letter formation and early writing
* Vocabulary and communication
* Numbers, counting and early maths
* Shapes, patterns and problem-solving
* School readiness
* Confidence, concentration and independence
Lessons are typically **30–60 minutes**, depending on the child's age, concentration and individual needs. For younger children, I believe shorter, engaging activities and movement breaks are much more effective than expecting them to sit and complete worksheets for long periods.
I have professional experience working with children and families, including experience as a Nursery Assistant and Family Support Worker. This has helped me develop a nurturing approach that considers not only what a child is learning, but also their confidence, emotional wellbeing and individual development.
My aim is to create a **positive, pressure-free learning environment** where children can learn at their own pace, celebrate their progress and build strong foundations for starting and progressing through school.
