About Lev
I am a Ukrainian cellist currently completing my Bachelor of Music at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under Professor Qin Li-Wei. Born into a family of musicians, my education spans across prestigious institutions in Sofia and Graz, carrying the pedagogical lineage of legends like Rostropovich, Starker, and Navarra.
As an active performer, I have served as Principal Cello of the State Opera of Stara Zagora and played in major European venues, including Konzerthaus Berlin and Musiikkitalo Helsinki. I have the privilege of performing on a rare 1853 Antonio Guadagnini cello.
Teaching is a profound passion of mine because it allows me to pass on this rich European musical heritage. I want to share the invaluable knowledge I’ve received from my mentors and inspire the next generation of cellists to find their unique artistic voice.

My approach to cello lessons is deeply rooted in the renowned European pedagogical traditions, blending the insights I gained from a lineage tracing back to Rostropovich, Starker, and Navarra. Having taught since the age of sixteen, I have developed a structured yet highly adaptable methodology.
In our lessons, we will focus equally on building a robust technical foundation and nurturing your unique musical expression. I place a strong emphasis on cultivating healthy playing habits to ensure long-term ease and enjoyment of the instrument. Whether you are preparing for exams, competitions, or simply playing for personal joy, my goal is to guide you in developing your artistic individuality and confidence.
Expect engaging, encouraging sessions where technical coaching meets deep musical exploration, tailored entirely to your personal goals and learning pace.
