About Elizabeth
My name is Elizabeth, I'm 24 years old, and I'm a PhD candidate in International Relations with a background in economics, development, and analytical methods. Although my academic work is demanding and highly technical, I thoroughly enjoy explaining economics clearly and simply to high school students. I love seeing how, with the right explanation, a concept that seemed impossible begins to make sense. My approach as a tutor combines three things: approachability, patience, and rigor. I'm young, which allows me to easily connect with students, understand how they study today, and explain the subject in language that feels natural to them. At the same time, my university experience gives me the foundation to offer structured, reliable, and well-prepared classes. I consider myself a calm, organized, and very approachable person. I always listen to what the student needs: whether they feel lost, want to improve their grades, struggle to understand graphs, or simply need to develop a study method. From there, I adapt the classes to their pace and learning style. I can teach in Spanish or English, depending on what the student prefers. My aim is for each student to feel supported, gain confidence, and discover that economics isn't so complicated when it's explained clearly with everyday examples. My job as a tutor is to help them understand the subject, not just pass it; and when that understanding comes, confidence naturally follows.

My Economics classes are designed to help students truly understand the subject, without memorizing isolated formulas or facing exams with anxiety. I use a youthful, approachable, and very clear method: I explain step by step, with everyday examples and simple comparisons that help economic concepts "click" immediately. Before we begin, I take a moment to identify where students are struggling: whether it's the theory, the graphs, the exercises, reading the textbook, or simply organization. Based on this, I adapt my explanations and the pace of the class. My goal is for students to leave feeling that Economics isn't as complicated as they thought. In each session, we combine three things: • A clear explanation of the day's topic, without unnecessary technical jargon. • Guided exercises to apply the theory and gain confidence. • A final mini-summary with the key points to study more effectively and avoid getting lost. I like the atmosphere to be relaxed and pressure-free, and I encourage students to ask as many questions as they want. There are no "stupid questions"; only poorly explained concepts. Often, a different explanation is all it takes for the content to make sense. I primarily work with secondary and high school students who need to reinforce their understanding of the subject, prepare for exams, improve their grades, or simply grasp economics in a more intuitive and confident way. I can also teach classes in English if the student prefers. My goal is for each student to gain clarity, confidence, and a more positive relationship with the subject, because when economics is understood, it ceases to be an obstacle and becomes interesting.
