About Esmé
I am a Geographical sciences student at the University of Bristol. I previously studied at Dr Challoners High School (GCSEs 10 A-A* & BTEC Distinction) and then Dr Challoners Grammar School (A Levels AAB & EPQ A). During this time I was heavily involved in running study clubs for students, as well as coaching them sports, and so I have a lot of experience with tailoring tutoring approaches to different students.
In addition, I have over 3 years of experience in one on one tutoring, ranging from 11+ spelling, punctuation, grammar, and maths, to GCSE level Spanish, Geography and English, as well as experience with small group tuition in these subjects. I also have experience in tutoring exam technique and essay writing for English Literature and Language.
My teaching style is designed to help students understand what they are studying, and not just memorise content as I find this helps them answer questions better and retain more knowledge. I enjoy using a combination of discussion and exam-style questions to do this.

Esme is intelligent, knowledgebale smart, well organised and above all able to accurately assess the needs of the person she is tutoring. She tutored my son and step children for GCSE all of whom who had different learning styles and needs. Whilst the content was similar, she established teaching methodologies which were effective and engaging.
Esme's geographical knowledge and understanding is excellent, and her communication skills mean she is adept at explaining the concepts to students. She is calm and caring, and works well with younger children too.
