About Seb
Hi! I’m Seb. I’m an independent performing artist based in Bristol. I produce my own music and perform both regular gigs and function gigs with various projects regularly. I am queer, trans and neurodiverse - inclusivity is really important to me! I am passionate that anyone can learn an instrument regardless of their gender, race, economic background and access needs. I am passionate about making the sometimes daunting prospect of picking up or developing an instrument further more manageable. I tailor learning to each individual student's goals, focusing on what you ultimately want to get out of your instrument, and working towards that in a focused way. I put a lot of emphasis on encouraging enjoyment and passion for the instrument, as well as developing your own unique relationship with it. I am on a learning journey on each instrument myself, and I love teaching because it helps me to stay connected to this.

I teach my classes with a focus on fun, and helping my students to be able to play and improvise in a live setting with ease. The most important thing to me is that my students develop a grow a sense love for their instrument through playing, progressing, gaining confidence and fluency. I incorporate a mix of theory and ear training exercises, and focus on breaking down songs that you’re keen to learn into manageable parts - with the aim that you will be able to eventually apply this same process independently, and learn any song you want! I also weave in jamming and using the voice in lessons, as a way to keep up energy and real life connection to learning the instrument. Lessons can be either 30 mins or 45 mins. I have been playing piano and drums for for 14 years, and guitar and bass for 6. I've been playing in various projects, recording and performing my own material live for 5 years. I am currently studying deeper into electronic music, production, mixing and synthesis, so can also offer sessions with a focus on this side of music making. I teach both children and adults, from beginner to intermediate. Concession rates available.
