About Michael
Hi! My name is Mickey, I'm a 23 year old guitarist who has been playing guitar for around twelve years now. Throughout that time I have been taught professionally by other tutors during my school and college life. This means I have had a lot of experience seeing how others teach and have been shown different areas of guitar such as technique, rhythm and many different styles of playing. I am wanting to pass this down to other beginners as I am now interested in assisting others going down that same route!
Overall guitar is something I am extremely passionate about and would be very happy to help others find that same passion with music for themselves. I can teach acoustic and electric guitar as I have had a fair amount of experience with both, so really just depends on the students preference.

I mainly teach the basic foundational side of guitar (rhythm and lead playing, chords, scales etc), but also know it is beneficial if they have an understanding of at least simple theory, technique, and the reason behind everything that is taught to them. This turns into a personal one on one lesson that is tailored to the students interests, and allows me to give them material to take away themselves to learn from as well as begin to enjoy playing in general.
Although obviously teaching students about technique and simply how to go about playing the guitar is important, I have come to realise that everyone is different, they all learn in different ways and benefit differently from the ways I teach them. This means I can set out a plan creating a more specific, person-centred approach by teaching them the way they will best benefit, as well as being able to enjoy it and pushing them to maximise their potential if they are passionate about it.
