About Marci
I am an Art Director and mentor with over 26 years of publishing experience based in New York City, working for the Big Five publishers. I specialize in book covers and interiors, most recently for Disney Publishing Worldwide. Designer of iconic books including The Feminist Baby, Meant to Be, The Isle of the Lost, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, as well as the Lore and Black Girl Power novels.
When we work together, you can expect a thoughtful, collaborative approach and maybe a few honest laughs along the way. I love mentoring new talent just as much as diving into the details of a layout or visual strategy.

I am an Art Director and mentor with over 26 years of publishing experience, working for the Big Five publishers. I specialize in mentoring book covers and interiors, most recently for Disney Publishing Worldwide. I am the designer of iconic books including The Feminist Baby, Meant to Be, The Isle of the Lost, and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, as well as the Lore and Black Girl Power novels.
I work with professionals of all levels to help strengthen design and illustration portfolios.
I am also happy to work with high school students trying to get into art school.
I will review your portfolio and we will discuss the work you want to be hired for.
I will assign projects based your specific needs to fill any holes in your portfolio and will give you art direction untilyou have professional pieces in your portfolio.
