About Bobbie
I teach all levels of guitar and bass and piano from beginner to professional all styles from pop, rock, rnb. I’m a jazz-focused music tutor with a strong emphasis on jazz harmony, improvisation, and music theory, helping students truly understand the language of music—not just memorize shapes or patterns. I specialize in Gypsy jazz (Django Reinhardt style), as well as broader jazz concepts that apply across styles.
In my lessons, we connect theory directly to what you’re playing. We’ll work on chord function, voice leading, rhythm, ear training, and improvisation, so everything makes musical sense. For Gypsy jazz students, that includes la pompe rhythm, authentic phrasing, chord vocabulary, and soloing over standard repertoire, all taught in a clear, practical way.
I tailor each lesson to the student’s level and goals, whether you’re a beginner building a strong foundation or an experienced musician looking to deepen your jazz understanding. My teaching style is structured, patient, and encouraging, with a focus on efficient practice and long-term progress.
If you want jazz and theory to finally click—and to feel confident applying them in real music—I’d be excited to work with you.

I’m a dedicated music tutor specializing in jazz, Gypsy jazz, and music theory, helping students understand not just what to play, but why it works. Whether you’re a beginner building a strong foundation or an intermediate/advanced musician looking to deepen your jazz vocabulary, I tailor every lesson to your goals and learning style.
My teaching emphasizes jazz harmony, improvisation, ear training, and rhythmic feel, with a clear, practical approach to theory that connects directly to real music. For Gypsy jazz students, we focus on la pompe rhythm, authentic phrasing, chord vocabulary, and improvisation in the Django Reinhardt tradition, while still building transferable jazz skills you can use in any style.
Lessons are structured, supportive, and efficient. I break down complex concepts into manageable steps so you gain confidence quickly and always know how to practice between sessions. My goal is to help you think like a musician—not just memorize shapes or licks.
If you want a tutor who can make jazz and theory click, and guide you toward confident, musical playing, I’d love to work with you. Let’s build real understanding and lasting skills together.

I used to take bass lessons from him in the Church Curriculum, and I always tell him when I run into him, "You’re the person who made me understand that I have the 'key' this entire time," and he’s helped me tremendously to unlock the music within me. I wouldn’t recommend any better teacher than him, that is, if you actually desire to achieve. He doesn't mess around.
He's a great teacher.
I met Bobbie at Guitar Center. He helped me learn piano and guitar, and he helped grow my confidence in my musical abilities!I met Bobby in church, and that’s how we both know each other. He first started teaching my son, but then I saw such great results with my son that I thought, why don’t I give it a try? I thought I would never be able to start learning piano or learning to sing at this age, but just the way Bobby does his teaching, it’s impossible for you not to understand. I’m not just saying this, but he really is an incredible teacher.
