About Nolan
Since the logic of chemistry is interconnected, we start by mapping out the structural basis of every molecule before drawing a single mechanism. Working as a med student researcher, I apply clinical rigor to ensure that carboxylic acids or complex aromatic chemistry make sense during our time together.
We address mass spectrometry and IR analysis by looking at the data exactly how a practitioner does in a laboratory setting. This approach provides clarity for IB and A-level students who need to move beyond memorization. My goal is to ensure you can perform synthesis pathways from memory by identifying functional groups on sight.
We solidify your grasp of SN1 and SN2 reactions so that exams become a predictable exercise rather than a source of stress. Would you like to start by reviewing your latest problem set or by building a foundational framework for your upcoming unit?

Graduating from Yale with a BS in Biochemistry and currently finishing my 4th year of medical school at MIT, I often wonder why students struggle so much with organic chemistry. My journey included scoring in the 99th percentile on the MCAT, so I understand the specific wall students hit with synthesis pathways and mechanism drawing. I have spent 5 years refining how to explain IUPAC nomenclature, carbonyl chemistry, and aromatic chemistry.
My practice focuses on IB students, A-level chemistry students, and university students retaking orgo. I simplify SN1 and SN2 reactions, functional groups, and radical reactions to make them manageable. Dealing with carboxylic acids or IR and mass spectrometry becomes logical once you learn the underlying patterns. Does this align with the obstacles you are currently facing in your coursework?
