About Shahab

As an experienced university professor with a strong background in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, I bring both academic depth and practical insight into my teaching. I hold extensive teaching experience across foundational and advanced engineering subjects including Semiconductor devices, Signal Processing, Probability and Stochastic Processes, Communication systems, Computer Networks, Embedded Systems and Computer Architecture. Moreover, I have also supervised graduate-level research projects involving real world Systems. My teaching philosophy is grounded in “learning by doing,” where I prioritize hands-on activities, problem-based learning, and real-world applications. I’ve helped students not just understand complex concepts but also apply them confidently in labs, simulations, and capstone projects. Whether you're struggling with technical theory or preparing for industry or postgraduate research, I create a supportive environment that nurtures growth, encourages questions, and builds technical independence. With a reputation for clarity, patience, and precision, I adapt my approach based on each student’s background and goals. My lessons are thoughtfully structured to blend interactive discussions, practical exercises, and conceptual understanding, making them ideal for undergraduate and graduate engineering students aiming to develop strong academic and professional foundations. I look forward to guiding you through a structured yet flexible learning journey that’s tailored to your needs and aligned with the best global practices in engineering education. Shahab

Teaching Methodology & Knowledge-Sharing Approach: As a tutor, I follow a "learning-by-doing" philosophy, which places active student engagement, experimentation, and real-world application at the core of the learning process. I integrate constructivist, inquiry-based, and project-based learning strategies, widely regarded as global best practices to develop not only conceptual understanding but also critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills. 1. Teaching Methods and Techniques: • Active Learning: I minimize passive lecturing and focus on interactive discussions, lab simulations, coding, prototyping, and problem-solving in real-time. • Project-Based Learning (PBL): Students work on real-life or industry-relevant mini-projects that grow in complexity over time. • Flipped Classroom: Students review theoretical content (videos, readings) before class, while class time is reserved for practical activities and deeper exploration. • Scaffolded Learning: I gradually shift responsibility to learners through guided practice, peer collaboration, and self-directed inquiry. • Formative Assessment: I use frequent low-stakes quizzes, reflective writing, and one-on-one feedback to adapt lessons to students' pace and needs. • Use of Technology: I integrate tools like MATLAB, Python, Simulink, virtual labs, and collaborative platforms like Google Colab and Trello for project tracking. 2. A Typical Lesson Plan (90-minute session): Time Activity Objective 0–10 min Recap & Objective Briefing Connect to previous lesson, outline goals 10–25 min Quick Conceptual Input (interactive discussion or short video) Establish baseline understanding 25–65 min Hands-on Activity / Mini-Project (solo or in teams) Apply concept to real-world or simulated task 65–80 min Peer Sharing & Reflection Exchange ideas, troubleshoot challenges 80–90 min Wrap-up & Exit Ticket Summarize key insights, collect learner feedback 3. What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor: • Real-World Integration: I relate abstract theories to current trends, industry tools, and case studies, helping students see relevance in what they learn. • Adaptability: I tailor my methods based on the learner’s background, be it theoretical, practical, or skill focused. • Mentorship Mindset: I don’t just teach; I mentor. I help students set goals, reflect on progress, and find learning strategies that work for them. • Multimodal Delivery: I use visual, auditory, and kinesthetic approaches to reach diverse learners, especially helpful in engineering and technical education. • Global Perspective with Local Context: I integrate global best practices while aligning content with the learners’ academic curriculum or local industry needs. 4. Audience for My Lessons: • Target Learners: o Undergraduate Students in Engineering (especially Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, and Computer Engineering) o First-Year Students: For building foundational thinking through guided labs and interactive conceptual learning o Final-Year Students: Focus on capstone projects, applied research methods, and soft skills like project management o Graduate Students: Methodology design, simulations, academic writing, and presentation of technical content o Working Professionals (on request): Short courses or bootcamps on MATLAB, Python, instrumentation, or safety systems • Specificity: My approach is highly suitable for: o Courses involving abstract and quantitative reasoning o Learners preparing for industry placement or higher studies o Students who struggle with rote methods and seek intuitive understanding
