About Kathy
Having earned my BA Music from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, I find that writing music is a balance of discipline and raw intuition. I have worked with 226 students to help them master melodic phrasing and the art of turning a concept into a finished song.
My 3 years of teaching experience allow me to simplify complex topics like rhyme schemes and motif development for complete beginners. I love helping home studio owners and content creators find the right imagery to make their lyrics pop.
My role is to help you structure your creative ideas so that your unique voice remains the focus. You will find that my approach emphasizes clarity over unnecessary complication when we work together. I treat every session as a chance to refine your ability to communicate through melody and rhythm. I am here to help you get the words out of your head and onto the page efficiently.

You show up with an idea, and we leave with a demo. The initial session focuses on establishing your concept and outlining the structure of your song. My training from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music provides the framework for our co-writing sessions. We spend our time testing various chord progressions and lyric patterns to see what fits your vision.
