About Maggie
A certified teacher with a Bachelors degree in Education, I have tutored for more than 10 years, focusing on Maths, add maths, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I have tips and tricks that have helped hundreds of my students turn their less than 20% grade (U) to 70% and more (B or A).
Many of the students I've had were considered "weak" by their teachers but with patience, practice and encouragement they increased their confidence and understanding lifting off the mental block the once had.

Each student is different, consequently each lesson is different. I would prioritize my lesson depending on how well they are performing in class and in the subject we are covering. Some students need follow up with their homework while others just need to know they have it right.
So first I would make sure that my student is up to speed with the topic they are learning in class. Then ensure they are up to date with homework and assignments, lastly prepare them for any upcoming tests.
I teach by explaining (as simply as possible) making sure that the student understands the key concepts of the topic. Then I give a variety of examples, after which I give my student a chance to try out exam style questions. I correct any misconceptions then use the syllabus to ensure that the student knows all that is required for that topic.
I do like to ask random questions on topics we have covered to judge how much the student has retained especially with topics they were struggling with.
