About Theresa
Sitting at the keys, I often remember the first time a complex piece finally clicked into place for me as a student. Music has been my primary language for 13 years, shifting from my formal studies at Berklee College of Music to running my own private studio. I teach sight reading, scales, arpeggios, and pedaling technique as the building blocks for every pianist. My work attracts absolute beginners, working professionals, and advanced learners who want to refine their craft.
Because I also specialize in voice, I view piano through a vocal lens that prioritizes dynamics, expression, and phrasing. My approach integrates memorization techniques and sight transposition to make the music feel like an extension of your own hands. It is rewarding to see students master posture and hand position while finding their own musical voice. I enjoy sharing this creative space with students who value the discipline and joy of making music.

Setting the tempo for a new piece requires a careful balance of slow practice and rhythmic precision. When we sit down, I focus on immediate feedback to ensure your hand position stays relaxed while you navigate challenging passages. My methodology relies on weekly practice modules assigned with every class to keep your progress steady and measurable.
You will find that my background as a BMus graduate brings a high level of academic rigor to our sessions. Whether you are an absolute beginner learning your first chords or an advanced learner polishing classical repertoire, the structure remains consistent.
Working professionals appreciate how I use the piano as an interpretive tool for their broader musical goals. We spend time on accompaniment skills and sight reading to ensure you develop as a well rounded musician. These elements work together to build your confidence at the keyboard over time. Your future success starts with the small, consistent habits we develop in our next session.
