About Josh
I’m a cellist and pianist who genuinely loves music and loves helping people discover it for themselves. I have a total of 15 years of experience in music: 10 years on piano and 5 on cello. For cello, I’ve spent the past five years playing at an advanced level in the top ensembles of the Peninsula Youth Orchestra, East Bay Youth Orchestra, and the Carlmont High School Symphony. Those experiences have shaped not just my technique but my appreciation for what music can do for people. I also have perfect pitch, which means I naturally hear details in sound that help me guide students toward clean intonation and expressive playing. More than anything, as a student myself, I try to create a relatable, encouraging space where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and growing at their own pace. My goal is to help every student build confidence, enjoy the process, and find their own connection to the cello.
