About Ursula
I’m a singing tutor with over 6 years of experience and an Advanced Diploma in Singing. I specialise in teaching young children and early teens, creating lessons that are fun, engaging, and full of creativity. My approach blends games, movement, and storytelling to teach pitch, rhythm, and vocal fundamentals in ways that stick. I love working with folk songs, Disney classics, and musical theatre pieces that capture imagination while building solid technique. Each lesson is carefully designed to be age-appropriate, helping students develop healthy vocal habits from the start. I focus not just on singing, but on listening skills, musical awareness, and confidence. Creativity and playfulness are at the heart of my teaching. My singing methodology is designed to help students master versatility across multiple genres, from classical to pop to jazz. Each style demands a unique balance of tone, technique, and interpretation, and I guide learners in adapting their voice with confidence. Classical singing emphasises control, resonance, and clarity, while pop highlights agility, stylistic flair, and connection. Jazz, on the other hand, opens space for improvisation, nuanced phrasing, and rich expressiveness. Pitch control is a core part of my lessons, as it allows singers to transition smoothly between these genres. Through exercises in breath support, dynamic shaping, and articulation, students build a toolkit that supports any performance setting. Musicality becomes the bridge—linking technical mastery with emotional delivery—so singers can fully inhabit each style. Technology plays an important role in progress. I use DAWs for playback and recording, metronomes for rhythmic precision, and pitch training apps to refine intonation and accuracy. These tools make learning interactive and help students track growth over time. My approach supports those who sing in ensembles as well as those who aim to cross stylistic boundaries in their own artistry. By blending tradition with modern tools, I ensure every student develops not just a strong voice, but also the adaptability to thrive in diverse musical worlds.
