About Kaylen Sophia
I am a native Spanish-speaker. Spanish was my first language, once I came to the U.S. at 3 years old I was taught English but kept speaking Spanish at home while traveling to Guatemala every year. This allowed me to stay connected to my culture.
As of right now I am learning Portuguese to pursue a higher education in Brazil at some point! I strongly believe in teaching real-life expressions in Spanish to help develop a stronger connection to language.

As a current tutor in my high school, I focus on not only teaching Spanish but prioritize pronunciation and understanding of grammar. I add on teaching the different dialects of Spanish there are to the languages. Additionally, I help build confidence in learning. Prior to my experience in the Spanish language/culture, I took 2 IB Spanish classes where I learned the Spain dialect. I kept A’s in those classes as well.
