About Willow

I'm Willow, a Year 12 Literature student who wants to help you get the best English GCSE grade you can, which is probably higher than you think.

You can trust me based off of my grade 8s in both GCSE Literature and Language, and my enthusiasm about English: I am an English Ambassador at my school, so I use my free periods to support year 8 students in their lessons by answering questions and helping them complete their work. Having recently been through GCSE English exams (AQA), the process is fresh in my mind, and I'm here to reassure you and offer all of my support, and the wisdom I have accumulated over the years.

I love to stay organised and would prioritise getting to know you, your struggle points, and strengths so that I know what to prioritise and how you prefer to learn/communicate.

About the lesson

As a Psychology student, I understand how learning and memory works so would make sure your student does enough challenging, independent work in order to form connections and build knowledge, but also complete enough work alongside them so that they don't become completely overwhelmed.

I know that it's important for students to understand content in depth so that they don't need to spend hundreds of hours using flashcards without anything going in, and I would help them achieve this by asking thorough questions and providing organised notes that connect all of the information from one session.

My sessions would be an hour each and best suited to GCSE students. I feel confident teaching all skill levels as I am able to adapt my style and intensity to different students: for example, helping my fellow top set students vs. helping set 4 year 8s.
