About Katie
I’m an RN with 11 years of nursing experience all in cardiac and critical care. On the CVICU, I’ve cared for patients recovering from open-heart surgery and managed some of the sickest patients in the hospital, including those requiring ECMO, Impellas, balloon pumps, CRRT and other advanced support.
I’ve also served as a CVICU charge nurse, been on numerous clinical councils, and precepted numerous nursing students and new nurses, which is where I discovered how much I love teaching!!!
I’m a big believer that nursing isn’t about memorizing a million facts—it’s about learning how to think, prioritize, and connect the dots. I love taking those “Wait…why is THAT the answer?!” moments and making them click and apply to real situations.
