About Rebecca
For the past few years I have been teaching in the Middle East. My most recent position has been teaching Primary Art at an International School in Egypt. There I have also taught Middle School English for a National School. I worked as an SEN Specialist for The ADNOC Schools in Abu Dhabi a year in between my time in Cairo.I have taught for fourteen years total mainly in English and Writing. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Psychology online with a focus on Mindful Leadership.
After graduating from The Savannah College of Art and Design in 2004, I have built a dynamic resume as an educator spending over the past decade teaching English, ESL, Writing, Art, Music and Drama with grades K-12 in addition to a role in academic administration. I find teaching to be a very rewarding job and I am passionate about education. I have spent time teaching overseas in Asia, Latin America in addition to the Middle East because I am interested in cross cultural exchange and because we are living in a global society. I believe education is the sole tool for building a unified and harmonious planet. Internationally, I have also had an intensive focus on my art and writing. My overseas work has allowed me to grow personally and professionally.
I have enjoyed being a part of the nonprofit sector and giving back to my community while being an advocate for the future of our community. I am experienced and work well with the “at risk”” children and children with significant learning differences. My experiences thus far demonstrated my capability of working with others through the creative process while meeting the challenges presented to me.

I try to create a multi-sensory teaching experience in my lesson plans that is based on a mindful approach to education producing an environment that cultivates the imagination and encourages ambition. I try to engage my students with our activities. I am passionate about the subjects I teach and I try to transfer that passion to my students.
