My methods often involve adding competitive edge to games; actively participating by completing tasks on the whiteboard/written excersies , all of which increases engagement. My focus in on grammar as this forms the foundation of the language. I strongly believe that one can only master conversational skills by making mistakes & speaking a lot, so I'm patient, positive and will always focus on getting results.
Methodology:
Listening & reading (Compréhension de l’oral et de l’écrit)
Listening : We will evaluate you current level in French, based on which we would start listening to French audio where I will assist you in adapting to the pace of spoken french & teach skills on how to catch key phrases/words to understand the context of the subject/topic. At times you will required to take notes & explain back your understanding of the topic.
Reading: We will read texts from syllabus and/or a topic relevant to your need. We will then evaluate what tenses, verbs and certain refined words are. We will then summarize the text in our own words. This is very helpful in essay writing later on.
Writing & Speaking ( Expression orale et écrite )
Writing: The base for writing is always reading. Every alternate day we will focus on a topic for reading and on a rough page create keywords for this topic. End of the entire course, you will take away your own little dictionary that has keywords encompassing diverse topics.
Speaking: We will converse in your level of understanding, choose topics that you are passionate about & add more words, I will re-evaluate & correct (wherever required) your grammar & also erroneous phrase formations.
Continuous Formative Assessment: This method ensures that we do not wait until 4 weeks or end of the course to evaluate your progress. Mock examinations and tests are even distributed throughout the course, so you gain more confidence. This also makes the exam less stressful. Exams are less about memorization and more about effective communication.
