About Logan
I'm a professional keyboardist, songwriter, and music industry creative based in Los Angeles.
I’ve been playing piano and keys for nearly two decades, and music has been the foundation of both my education and career. I studied at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami before transferring to Belmont University in Nashville, where I continued developing both my musicianship and my understanding of the music business.
For the past four years, I’ve been living in Los Angeles working at record labels and publishing companies while actively performing and writing as a musician. That real-world experience deeply informs how I teach. I don’t just teach theory from a textbook — I teach how harmony, chords, and musical instincts function in today’s industry and on real stages.
As a teacher, I value professionalism, preparation, and clear communication. Lessons are structured, intentional, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced player looking to expand your vocabulary, you can expect a supportive environment, practical guidance, and steady progress.
Music is a lifelong skill, and my goal is to help you build both confidence and independence at the keyboard — so you’re not just learning songs, but truly understanding the instrument.

Hi, I’m Logan! I'm working keyboardist and performer based in Los Angeles. My teaching style is theory-driven, creative, and rooted in modern popular music.
My Teaching Approach
- I focus heavily on understanding how music works, not just reading it off a page.
- While we’ll touch on notation when necessary, my lessons emphasize:
- Chord construction and harmony
- Nashville Number System & functional harmony
- Playing by ear
- Groove, feel, and rhythmic awareness
- Improvisation and jamming
- Learning real popular songs
I want students to understand why a chord works, how progressions move emotionally, and how to build their own musical vocabulary.
A standard session might include:
- Quick technical warm-up (scales, voicings, coordination)
- Breaking down a chord progression from a popular song
- Learning how to play it with proper voicings and groove
- Jamming over it — improvising melodies or reharmonizing
- Expanding it (changing keys, adding extensions, creating variations)
Students don’t just learn songs — they learn how to use them.
By the end of each lesson, you’ll know how to practice intentionally and creatively at home.
Who These Lessons Are For
- Beginners who want to play modern music quickly
- Singer-songwriters wanting stronger harmonic skills
- Producers who want better chord fluency
- Intermediate players stuck playing the same shapes
- Adults returning to piano who want a more creative approach
If you want to understand chords, jam with confidence, and improvise instead of just reading sheet music — I’d love to work with you!
