About X
x (they/ze/fae pronouns) is a transdisciplinary artist, curator, and educator. x grew up in Miami, FL where they trained primarily at the Dance Unlimited studio, learning ballet, pointe, hip-hop, and jazz. They attended magnet art programs in theatre for middle school and high school where they discovered their passion for choreographing with musical theatre. Graduating in 2018 with a BA in Theatre Studies and minors in Dance and Art History, x shifted the focus of their solo practice towards experimental, avant-garde performance art and anti-modern dance. In 2019 x joined the inaugural cohort of the Mark Morris Teaching Artist Training Program and went on to be an Assistant Teaching Artist at the Center. They have previously taught virtual classes with (free)skewl and currently teach at Mark Morris Dance Center. When not teaching, x collaborates with fellow Disabled artists and community members and works on their solo practice. x is currently in the Creatives Rebuild New York Artist Employment Program and Artist in Residence at Center for Performance Research.

Lessons are of my own curriculum with influence from a wide variety of lineages, styles, and teachers. I add my own twist to my lessons and have a specialized focus in neurodivergent and disabled student populations. For 1:1 lessons, they will be catered and customized to the student’s particular interests, needs, and goals.
