About Colton
With 4 years of teaching experience and a BA in Music Theory with Guitar Specialization, I help students develop both guitar skill and production knowledge. My lessons focus on music production fundamentals, audio engineering for guitarists, and home recording techniques. Tone shaping, effects pedals, microphone placement, and basic mixing are key areas of study. I’ve worked with early intermediate to advanced intermediate students, as well as professional/expert session players. Lessons are hands-on and tailored to each learner’s needs. I emphasize well-rounded musicianship, connecting performance with recording techniques. Students practice tracking, layering, and producing their own recordings. I encourage creativity and experimentation with tone and effects. Lessons integrate theory, technical skills, and real-world applications. Over time, students gain confidence in both playing and producing. My approach balances technical precision with creative freedom. Together, we refine your sound and fully capture your artistry.

I teach guitar with a focus on ensemble performance and live playing skills. Lessons cover band dynamics, stage presence, and performance etiquette. I also focus on expressive playing, tone, and energy projection. Students progress from small ensemble exercises to full performance simulations. Lessons are practical, hands-on, and designed for aspiring performers. Over time, learners gain fluency, musical awareness, and stage confidence. I balance technical skill with performance readiness. Each session is interactive and motivating. My goal is to prepare every student to shine on stage. Together, we make live performance exciting and achievable.
