About Kevin
As a teenager, when I first started grilling I was curious about, and determined to figure out, why some grilling sessions would produce incredibly delicious food, and others would not. Through many years of trial-and-error I learned which grilling techniques worked for which foods. And as my grilling skills grew, I discovered how heartwarming it is to hear people say things like "That's the best chicken I've ever had!" and "That corn-on-the-cob was incredible!"
I have a talent for making difficult concepts easy for the average person to understand. So it's just natural that I combine my grilling expertise with my talent for teaching. When I learn something, I want to know not only what to do, but why I'm doing it. And so I use that approach in my grilling lessons.

This is not about barbecuing, which is cooking large cuts of meat slowly at low temperatures. This is about grilling, which is cooking meat and vegetables quickly over high heat. Lessons focus on grilling techniques and not so much on recipes.
Grilling over lump charcoal is not only an art but a science, and my 50 years of experimenting with different foods and techniques have revealed to me not only the secrets of how to get the best results, but also which commonly used methods can actually ruin your food.
Before we schedule a lesson we'll go over what you'll need as far as equipment and food. Then, using your phone or other device, I'll be there guiding you step by step through the entire process, from lighting the fire to presentation.
Lessons are for anyone, regardless of grilling experience.
