Hey there budding bass player! So you want to play the coolest, grooviest instrument? That's great!
I teach beginners only first picking up the bass, all the way to those with skills already who want to further their notation reading or slap skills.
Lessons are a relaxed and fun place to be to express your thoughts or get over a particular stumbling blocks and progress.
My experience is mostly in either a Rock, Pop, Indie, Motown or Soul band setting so my repertoire and knowledge of live function gigs is vast.
Lessons are ultimately aimed at performing the bass guitar in these kind of band scenarios.
For example learning how what you play fits the song, how it sounds alongside the other instruments in the band, how volume and speed and tone are just as important as the right notes.
With the bands I currently play in there is a constant need to learn new songs, I can show you ways of mastering a song efficiently and ways to embellish parts so as not to drain your enthusiasm and keep it personal.
I believe the ideal lesson is 45 mins, to get across the information needed, to understand why its important and how to use it, and then a performance of it. And then finally to set the work to be rehearsed and developed.
