I am a passtionate lifelong learner and my wish is to inspire the desire to learn for others.
I am the oldest of 6 siblings, so I have ample experience working with youth both in my personal and professional life.
I intend on working with students until they feel they have achieved their goal.
I began my journey in the education during my undergraduate career. I tutored for a work-study program that provided literacy services to local elementary schools and eventually became a site director for the program. Through this experience, I became interested in issues related to education such as achievement gaps and further engaged in working with young adults.
I have worked with high school students in an academic settings since 2016, and assisted college students since 2023. I was a high school instructional aide for 3 years and provided instruction in various subjects. Currently, I serve as a college advisor for high school students.

When getting to meet new students, it is important that I listen, communicate, and eventually build trust. This is important because as a tutor, I need to be present and aware of the student's needs -- both personal and academic -- in order to ensure that I can support them in their success.
I have experience working with students from grades in K-12 and some college, but primarily work with high school and college students. I am comfortable working with students of diverse racial and economic backgrounds.
If I was a student looking for a teacher in my area of expertise, I would look for someone who is dedicated to ensure my academic growth. I also would like someone with the ability to break down concepts in a manner tha coincides with my thinking process to faciliate my learning. Important values I would seek in a teacher are patience, care, and dedication.
I began a college peer mentorship program at my current workplace and it’s always revitalizing seeing young adult take on leadership roles.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before talking to a teacher, a student should be able to articulate their needs and develop questions around those needs that are conducive to their progress and growth. Even it is simply saying, “I don’t know where to begin!”
