About Maksims
The study of human behavior and perception starts with the mechanism of attention. The conclusion that human attention is highly valuable in the scientific, philosophical and cultural way of describing it, led me to the research of photographic realism, storytelling, history and the physics of light. Understanding the value of attention and that the attention is flawed, is key in our information / signal rich society. Sadly, there is not enough emphasis on teaching this in our civilization. So to teach about the above mentioned subjects of Creativity, Emotional Intelligence, Storytelling and Visual Literacy, I start teaching the basics of the attention mechanism first. The approach is unique and has proven to be very effective when taught in the Netherlands.

While teaching Visual Arts in the Netherlands, Maksims Kačanovs started wondering how to teach creativity more effectively. His search started to combine the earlier experience and knowledge as a visual artist and new research into neurology and psychology of attention. The result is a priceless understanding of how attention translates into Creativity, Emotional Intelligence, Storytelling and Visual Literacy. Maksims Kačanovs is working with light, building cameras, teaching and researching. He has almost twenty years of experience as a photographer and has started teaching photography in 2005. He has experience teaching visual arts in front of a class as well as individually.
