About Eliza
Welcome!
As a college student, with a strong background in leadership and communication, I understand the importance of inspiring confidence in my students. Not only was I a student, but I still am! Studying Hospitality Management at Grand Canyon University, I've had multiple opportunities to gain even more experience to my professional resume. Such as working with Industry leaders, going to International Summits, working on a Leadership & Management Diploma, and so much more. With a professional and personalized approach, I strive to establish a trusting relationship with all my students in order to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where we can work and learn to your needs.

As a tutor specializing in 1-on-1 leadership education for high school students, my approach is highly personalized, collaborative, and experiential.
I use a variety of teaching methods and techniques to accommodate different learning styles. These may include:
Interactive Coaching: I believe in guiding students through real-life leadership scenarios to foster problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities. This often involves asking questions, encouraging dialogue, and providing constructive feedback.
Case Studies and Role-Playing: I incorporate case studies and role-playing exercises to simulate leadership challenges and opportunities, allowing students to practice and refine their leadership skills in a safe environment.
Personal Development Plans: I work with students to develop personalized leadership development plans, setting goals and strategies for growth in areas such as communication, teamwork, and conflict resolution.
Ongoing Support and Reflection: I emphasize the importance of continuous improvement and self-reflection, encouraging students to regularly assess their progress and adjust their leadership strategies as needed.
A typical lesson plan might include:
Introduction (5 minutes): Discuss the goals for the session and review any previous lessons or assignments.
Activity or Discussion (30 minutes): Engage in an activity or discussion related to a specific leadership topic, such as communication skills, decision-making, or team dynamics.
Application (15 minutes): Apply the concepts learned to a real-life scenario or case study, and discuss potential strategies and outcomes.
Reflection and Feedback (10 minutes): Reflect on the session, discuss what was learned, and provide feedback for improvement.
Before we begin we will chat together about your specific learning goals, and/or your class expectations and assignments. Together we will structure tutoring sessions best suited to your needs to make sure that not only do you leave enlightened with a complete understanding of the content but that your grades also reflect it.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
My involvement in student council, clubs, and local politics has given me firsthand experience in leadership roles, which I draw upon to provide practical insights to my students. I prioritize the holistic development of my students, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and continuous improvement. I understand that each student is unique, and I adapt my teaching style to meet their individual needs and goals. My specialization in high school-level leadership education allows me to focus on the specific challenges and opportunities that students face during this critical developmental stage.
Who the Lessons Are For:
My leadership lessons are designed for high school students who are looking to develop their leadership skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Whether they are aspiring student leaders, captains of sports teams, or simply looking to build their confidence and communication skills, my lessons are tailored to meet their needs and help them succeed.
