About Wendy
Hi! I’m Wendy—a bilingual Mandarin–English speaker based in Ottawa, Canada. I bring a unique global perspective to teaching, with professional experience as a central banker in the UK, consultant in financial services, and current public servant in the Canadian government.
Mandarin is my native language, and I’ve taught over 900 lessons to 48 students worldwide—kids, professionals, beginners, and advanced learners alike. I also work as a simultaneous interpreter and translator, specializing in government, legal, and financial contexts.
As someone who learned English from scratch and now works in it professionally, I understand how challenging learning a language can be—but I also know how enjoyable and rewarding it becomes with the proper support.
