About Lara
I am Lara Hernandez, Woman Candidate Master (WCM), former French Girls U16 Champion (2015), with a peak Elo rating of 2053. I’ve had the privilege of representing France at the European Championships in Croatia and the World Championships in Greece, competing against some of the best young players in the world.
In 2023, my coaching experience allowed me to work with:
1) The French U8 Vice-Champion (a future Magnus, perhaps?)
2) The sister of the double French U10 Champion (chess runs in the family!)
3) Young players who became French team champions in the prestigious "Top Jeunes" competition!
With over 15 years of playing experience and 8 years of teaching, I share my passion for chess with a wide audience, from children as young as 5 to seasoned adult players. I love supporting my students in their progress, always in a positive and motivating environment.

For intermediate players: Say goodbye to games without a plan! I’ll help you decode positions, activate your pieces like superheroes, and build strategies worthy of the greatest masters.
For competitors: It’s time for intensive training! We’ll analyze your games (with tact and kindness), optimize your openings, and work on psychological preparation to shine in tournaments.
From ages 5 to 105, whether you’re a young prodigy or a passionate enthusiast, my lessons are designed to fit your needs! And no worries—I’m fluent in both French and English (even when explaining why the bishop is called a "bishop").
