My Teaching Approach
I believe every student has the ability to succeed when they are taught in a way that matches how they learn best. With more than 30 years of experience in education and certifications in Washington State for elementary education and special education, I design lessons that are engaging, individualized, and focused on building both skills and confidence.
I create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and celebrating their progress. My lessons incorporate proven teaching strategies, interactive activities, visual supports, and positive reinforcement to help students stay motivated and achieve lasting success.
What You Can Expect During a Lesson
Each lesson begins with a brief review to reinforce previously learned skills and identify any areas that need additional support. We then focus on a specific learning goal using clear instruction, guided practice, and engaging activities tailored to the student's learning style. Throughout the lesson, I provide encouragement, constructive feedback, and opportunities for independent practice. Every session ends with a review of what was accomplished and recommendations for continued learning.

Who I Teach
I work with students in kindergarten through 6th grade who need support in reading, writing, mathematics, phonics, comprehension, study skills, homework, and test preparation. I also have extensive experience supporting students with learning differences, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia, and students receiving special education services. Whether your child needs extra practice, academic intervention, or enrichment, I provide personalized instruction that helps them grow and succeed at their own pace.
