About Suze

Her program is different. Her style is direct. Industry professional Susan Gabriel aka The SuzeMuze breaks down the barriers that separate the singer from the song, the writer from the lyric, the player from the performance.
As a legendary talent herself, she brings a rich experience of expertise to any session and meets each student right where they are, any age, any level. She is a compassionate professional.

What parents, students and educators say:
Out -of-Door Academy parent Jennifer Ciesar says - “What sets Ms. Susan apart is her rare ability to pair high-level professionalism with student-centered empathy and creativity.
Known affectionately as The Suze Muse—based on our direct experience with her extraordinary talent and dedication as a music educator, she brings a level of excellence that is unwavering, while also engaging with learners in a way that feels natural, kind, and inspiring. This balance is uncommon - I give Ms. Susan my highest recommendation for any teaching or educational opportunity. Her presence in any program will immediately elevate the experience for students and families alike.

Ms. Susan made music fun, imaginative, and engaging—transforming it into a space where my son could truly play, express himself, and develop confidence. That exposure laid a lasting foundation. He still reflects fondly on the joy he felt learning with her.”

Out-of-Door Academy Upper School Head of Musical Theater Denis Hoff said, “Students learned to sing from the heart without fear, to associate words they were singing to something they had ownership with in their own lives. Susan is fun for kids and teachers!”

Brandeis University grad /high school student alum Joanna Murphy said, "I cannot tell you how grateful I am. I’m a million steps closer to all my dreams because of what you have inspired in me and taught me. I am finally becoming who I always knew I was because of you!”

Burr and Burton Academy Creative Arts Director Neil Freebern recalls, “Susan’s method works. As founder and architect of this program, she exemplifies a level of creativity and passion for human development that is unprecedented and quite beneficial for my vocal and ensemble students. Her musical teaching took aim at unlocking the inner potential of my students to assist them musically and in self confidence and self awareness. The results were truly remarkable. I enjoyed sharing the stage with Susan and the level of give and take was remarkable. Her eclectic mannerism and joy for life are infectious. It is without reservation that I encourage any organization to utilize her talents.”

Santa Fe School of Arts & Sciences parent Dorothy Roosevelt says, ”It’s clear Susan’s music curriculum brings fun and creativity to every class without compromising the technical aspects of learning.”

Santa Fe School of Arts & Sciences Special Program Director Stephanie Smith says, “Susan has shown remarkable professionalism, integrity and a fabulously fun teaching style to our organization and all of her students here.”

Santa Fe School of Arts & Sciences parent Veree Simons said, “Susan is absolutely incredible in her ability to connect with children & give them the confidence in their ability. Her energy is infectious & love of the art of music seeps out of her & enlightens those around.I was so very surprised at how she was able to engage my children virtually during this crazy Covid-19 remote learning time in life. She’s a gift, a joy, and brought music and songwriting magic to our whole family.”

Former Sag Harbor NY Asst Principal Stella Maris School Patricia K. Sliwienski remarked, “I can attest to Susan’s high standards and the professionalism she exhibited in working with the students at Stella Maris. It was a joy to collaborate in this unique and wonderful program.”

Christina Beem, parent of former Dalton School student Sophie, who became a touring teen recording artist and later majored in music at USC Thornton School of Music said, “Susan is brilliant and has developed a unique program that connects music to the core of human character. She teaches that music can be break through - through exploring their art, songs, stories and very being, they get it and make beautiful, meaningful music with integrated skills and enriched associations that apply to so much kids encounter growing up.”

St John’s College Graduate Institute former Associate Admissions Director Susan Olmsted says, “Susan  has helped many students, including myself, find their voice and take that into the world to navigate on many levels. Her curriculum and teaching changes lives.”

St. John’s College undergraduate Hunter Wright says, “Susan knows how to bring out the artist that is already present within every individual. Incredibly natural, she allows the student to explore the essential aspects of music that are often overlooked. I have seen drastic changes in the way I approach, play, and hear music.”

St. John’s College Music Club President Calvin Overberg’s message to undergraduates: “Susan’s program is like no other!’”

Executive Dir. Zack’s Place Special Needs Community Enrichment Center, Dale Frates had this to say. “Highly credited, Susan’s curriculum is highly motivational easily adapted to meet individual student needs. Her community TV awarded curriculum can be incredibly useful for various issues and school agendas. Susan has inspired our population.”
