About Shaun
I'm a South African, registered, professional architectural draughtsman, with 7 years experience in the architectural industry and a BIM manager since 2019. I work in Revit architecture, modelling 3D Revit families and as well design buildings in Revit. As BIM manager it is my key role to make sure that the office template is up to date; that all Revit families are correctly build and that all models in the project are design correctly and used effectively. As BIM manager it is my role to design and build efficient and effective ways in Revit for the office. I also help new students that comes in for their training, making sure they understand how to model elements and buildings in Revit and when they walk out, they know Revit up until an intermediate level to be able to walk into other architectural office with confidence, using Revit.

My teaching methods are based in how we use Revit in the architectural firm and what is expected. We will model buildings and creating paramaters; applying the correct materials on the building; creating view templates to display the model in certain ways with filters rather than hiding the elements. Creating a template for yourself or for the office. Building Revit families and placing parameters on the families without building each individual item over and over again. A faster way of building elements when it comes to changing the item, it is not necessary to create a new family, but rather using the parameters to make changes to the model/Revit family.
