About Tatum
I hold a Bachelor’s in Music Performance with a focus on Vocal studies and have spent the past 7 years teaching students of all ages and abilities. My approach integrates technical development, expressive singing, and performance preparation, helping students achieve both skill and confidence. I believe in creating lessons that are structured, encouraging, and adaptable to each learner’s individual voice and goals.
I emphasize vocal health, technique, and expressive artistry while guiding students through repertoire selection, practice strategies, and performance skills. Lessons combine technical drills, musical interpretation, and creative exploration to foster growth and engagement. I focus on building a safe and motivating environment where learners feel empowered to take risks, make mistakes, and develop resilience alongside skill.
Outside of teaching, I continue performing and exploring diverse vocal styles, which allows me to bring real-world experience into lessons. I am passionate about helping learners discover their authentic voice, gain confidence, and enjoy singing as a lifelong skill and source of joy. Watching students transform their technique and artistry is immensely rewarding and motivates my ongoing commitment to teaching.

Learning to sing effectively requires a blend of technical skill, emotional awareness, and consistent practice. Lessons are personalized for each student. Beginners focus on basic breath management, pitch accuracy, and simple song interpretation, establishing a strong foundation for healthy singing. Intermediate learners work on range expansion, tonal variety, vibrato control, and expressive phrasing, enhancing musicality and performance confidence. Advanced students refine stylistic interpretation, audition preparation, stage presence, and subtle nuances in vocal performance. I provide constructive feedback, encourage experimentation, and create a supportive environment where learners feel motivated to explore their unique voice.
The ultimate goal is for students to develop a sustainable and expressive vocal technique while cultivating creativity, emotional depth, and self-assurance.
