About Portia
Portia is a contemporary vocalist and a singing teacher. She has sung in choirs, singing competitions and has performed at various events, including weddings and private functions. Portia’s training began in classical voice (Grade 8 ABRSM) and has since progressed to contemporary styles of singing. She is a member of the Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA) where she receives training and mentoring from master vocal coaches. In addition to voice, Portia also holds a Grade 8 in Piano (ABRSM) and a Diploma in Piano Performance from Trinity College London (ATCL). Portia is passionate about helping singers express themselves authentically and confidently through their voice. She is a patient, attentive teacher that makes all her students feel at ease with her enthusiasm for teaching. Portia loves dedicating her time to developing her skills and qualifications so she can help her students find joy and freedom in their singing!

“My goal as a singing teacher is to help you condition your voice so you can sing without any breaks or sudden changes in quality from the bottom of your range to the very top” What to expect? Lessons are designed to follow your interest or goals. Whether you are wanting to pursue singing lessons as a joyful hobby or to fix a specific problem with your voice, I will work together with you at your own pace to help you achieve great results! I will use the IVA technique - which has been used and tested by Grammy Award Winners and countless actors and performers in film and TV. You will learn to: Sing with ease and power through your entire range without straining or going breathy. Discover, strengthen and connect different parts of your voice. Build stamina and flexibility in your voice. Improve clarity and breath control. Apply correct technique and tools so you can sing your favorite songs with confidence, expression and creativity!
