Find out more about Francesca

  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

I grew up in a family of artists, so music was always part of my everyday life. I started singing at a very young age, simply because it was everywhere in our home — music was a constant presence and a natural form of expression for me.

Singing has always been my primary voice, but the piano is still my favorite instrument. I use it as a creative and supportive tool for exploration, grounding, and deepening my musical understanding, and it continues to influence how I teach and approach music today.
  • Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I never get tired of listening to old Italian classics — the melodies, language, and emotion feel timeless to me. I also love jazz for its freedom and nuance. Both styles continue to inspire how I listen to, interpret, and teach music.
  • Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

One of the most challenging and rewarding courses I could offer is focused on finding an authentic vocal identity. Beyond technique, it asks students to unlearn imitation, release tension, and connect their voice to honest emotion and intention.
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I believe the most complicated instrument to master is the voice. Unlike any other instrument, it’s constantly changing — influenced by the body, emotions, health, environment, and life itself. There’s no way to separate the instrument from the person.

Learning solid technique is what creates grounding and consistency within that constant change. Technique doesn’t limit the voice; it stabilizes it, allowing singers to adapt, trust their instrument, and express themselves freely even as it evolves over time.
  • What are your keys to success?

Discipline and gratitude are my keys to success. Discipline helps me stay committed and consistent through the work, while gratitude keeps me grounded, present, and connected to why I make music in the first place.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

Raffaella Carrà — because her Italian classics are still iconic, and she was a true trailblazer for women long before it was easy. I imagine the conversation would be glamorous, honest, and full of laughter.

Connie Francis — my grandmother’s favorite, so meeting her would feel like sharing a drink across generations, stories, and songs.

Olivia Dean — because she brings so much joy and freshness back into music. She feels like the kind of artist you could talk to until sunrise about life, groove, and why music matters.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned at music school wasn’t about hitting the right notes, but about listening. A teacher once stopped me mid-phrase and asked me to sing less — to trust the silence, the breath, and the intention behind the sound. That moment completely shifted how I approached music, reminding me that technique exists to serve expression, not overpower it.
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I really take the time to get to know each student — how they feel, how they learn, and what’s happening in their body and voice that day. I lead with patience and encouragement, and I care just as much about how a student feels while singing as how they sound. Those small moments of trust and understanding are what I believe set my teaching apart.
