About Sofie
My name is Sofie, and I am originally from Belgium. I have been living in Dunedin since 2012. My first degree is Bachelor Hon. in Graphic Design and Illustration. Then I did a Teaching degree. I hold a current teacher registration. I found my passion in life is teaching art, and have done that for many years. I love to be a guide in people's creative journey.

Because I am new on this platform you can enjoy my first 3 classes for $25/h. I am a fully trained and registered Art Teacher with 25y experience in teaching Visual Arts to High School students in NZ and Belgium (my country of origin). I also teach primary school children, and adults in different settings. Recently I started my own art teaching business. CREATIVE PLANT - ART SCHOOL (you can find my page on FB). I work with homeschool groups, and adult recreation centers as well. I have thorough knowledge of the NZ Arts Curriculum, and NCEA and can offer help with creating your Folio Board. But I like teaching 'intuitively' the most, which is more about tuning in with the student. From observation I then guide and help explore the unique creative style and techniques that resonate within the student (instead of structured curriculum). In summary, we can decide together on what you want to learn and how you want to learn it. Structured or intuitive.
