About Miranda
I am passionate and committed about playing the piano and violin and am keen to share my love of these instruments by teaching others to play. I studied both instruments at the Royal College of Music Junior Department (RCM JD), having myself been taught by acclaimed musicians. During my time there, I was a member of the orchestra and involved with chamber music groups, playing the piano in a Piano Quintet and the violin in String Quartets. I was offered a place at the National Children’s Orchestra at the age of 10 and remained a member of the orchestra for five years as a violinist. I've led the orchestra playing 'Libertango' at Leeds Town Hall and got to play some fantastic repertoire, from the Star Wars suite to ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ by Mussorgsky. I've performed solo piano and violin in several school concerts to include music scholars' recitals, and gone on to win the advanced category of school piano and string competitions. Whilst at the RCM, I took part in the Jacques Samuel Music Festival and was selected to perform at the Wigmore Hall in 2014 and 2015. After auditioning in my final year of sixth form to perform a concerto with the school orchestra, I was delighted to be selected to perform my all-time favourite - Rachmaninoff's 'Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini’. I was honoured to be one of nine students at my school to receive a nomination for a prestigious cup awarded for the most outstanding achievement by a pupil in any field, which I received for my musicianship. As a tutor, I've helped students at Ricard's Lodge High School prepare for their French GCSEs, and am now tutoring KS3 English. I also have experience helping relatives and younger pupils at my school to develop their skills at the piano.

My lessons are tailored to helping you achieve the results you are after, whether that's in learning a new piece, or brushing up on your scales, sight-reading or aural skills in preparation for an exam. I will be able to share useful techniques to help you along, which I am confident will make for more effective and enjoyable practice sessions. I am offering virtual lessons only on Zoom/Skype. First lesson will be free.

She is a highly experienced performer, having given solo recitals at some of the UK's most high-profile venues.
