About Wesley
I am a high school student in Fremont, CA with more than 10 years of experience as a violinist and pianist. I won First and Second Prize in BAMA US International Open Music Competition and I am also part of San Jose Youth Symphony's Philharmonic Orchestra as a first violin. As a pianist, I have also scored with distinction on the ABRSM Grade 8 Piano exam.

Practice is what differentiates a good violinist from an average violinist. Unfortunately, the reality is that practice is often done without supervision and a teacher. That is why I focus on teaching students how to practice, how to be self-critical, and ultimately how to improve independently.
For beginners to intermediate students, focusing on basic skills, techniques, and good habits of practicing is key to building a strong foundation. For advanced students, the focus should shift from technical to musical aspects which includes phrasing, personal interpretations, and the development of a passionate musical style.
