About Katie
I have a master's degree in violin performance from the conservatory at UMKC. I have been teaching private music lessons for 19 years. I strongly believe in building a good solid technical understanding on any instrument to make sure all students develop a healthy relationship to the instrument and avoid future injuries. I also believe music should be fun! When students are interested, I love bringing skills like improvisation into lessons, even at the very beginning and at a young age to help students find their own voice as they learn. There are so many different ways to teach every skill, and I fully believe lessons should be catered to each student's interests while maintaining high standards.

Hi, I'm Katie! I have a master's degree in music from the conservatory at umkc and currently offer ONLINE LESSONS in violin and guitar.
My undergrad and master's degrees are in classical music, but I have also studied country, jazz, pop and other styles extensively for the past 20 years. I have been teaching private lessons for almost 20 years.
Not only am I dedicated to the highest quality of music education, I have a master's degree in performance from the conservatory at UMKC and I have performed on violin with Michael Buble, Lindsey Stirling, Evanescence, 2Cellos, and many more! Why study music with me online?
