About Sharon
I am a violin, viola, piano teacher and a teacher of music theory with many years of experience. I trained for my B.A(hons) at the Birmingham Conservatoire and my M.Mus(perf) at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Following this, I began performing with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra as well as Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet. After moving down to Dorset, I freelance as well as teaching in many schools and privately at home. I have had many pupils who have moved onto becoming professional musicians both in orchestras as well as soloists. I teach privately in my home and I also offer online lessons in all instruments. I am very flexible in my teaching and will offer a variety of styles of music to make the lessons well informed and interesting. Sharon taught my daughter the violin for 2 years.
Her lessons were regular and punctual. They were well structured with practice technique and new pieces introduced on a regular basis but always in a relaxed encouraging positive environment which were tailored to my daughters individual needs. I have no hesitation in recommending Sharon to tutor. She is an excellent teacher.My 3 children have been taught by Sharon for many years.
