About Amye
I am a graduate of Bethel Music College, having learned from some of the most skilled and pure-hearted musicians in the worship genre. One of those musicians who mentored me is a highly skilled, well-traveled cellist and violinist in the worship music genre and much of what I teach was learned from him. It is my desire to play, teach, and worship with the same heart these musicians who've poured into me do.
I have played violin for many years and play cello as well. Additionally, I write songs and lead community worship gatherings.

When I teach violin, I focus on teaching the techniques that are going to help you reach your specific goals and get there quicker.
Although I do use the Essential Elements series and specific bow hand techniques and exercises, where I put the focus on each lesson will depend on each student and their goals. My aim is not to follow a precise pattern for every student, but to help them develop the specific skills they need to progress more quickly towards their goal.
Many of the techniques I use, and my style of teaching, come from private lessons with my strings mentor at Bethel Music College who is a very skilled and well-traveled stringed instrument player.
As a testimony to my methods of teaching, I have a young student who had never taken violin lessons prior to starting with me. Her goal was to play an intermediate-level song for her grandfather 8 months after starting lessons with me. I honestly thought it was going to be a tough goal for her to achieve, but she succeeded in learning the song within 3 months.
