About Tilman
I am an experienced violinist and teacher with a BMus performance degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
I am currently completing the Orchestral Artistry course for my postgraduate studies at the Guildhall, where I frequently work in close contact with members of the LSO.
During my undergraduate degree I studied violin performance with Simon Fischer and Krysia Osostowicz. Other teachers whom I received lessons from include Igor Ozim, Ingolf Turban, David Frühwirth, the pianist David Doland and the Endellion Quartet.

Personally, I find a wholistic approach the most rewarding, both in my teaching and my playing. Hence I incorporate traditional teaching methods such as technical exercises and studies, where appropriate. But this has to be on the basis of the music we are working on and has to fit a purpose. Furthermore, I use approaches from other fields such as physio therapy and Alexander Technique and Feldenkreis.

Tilman and I met at the Guildhall School during our studies there. I have known Tilman to be a great, sensitive and experienced musician. We have worked together and he is a fantastic and supportive colleague. All of his skills as a musician will translate well into his teaching and I honestly believe that any student studying with him would benefit greatly from his experience and knowledge.
Tilman is a FANTASTIC violin teacher and performer. He is very patient and has a structured, thorough method of teaching his lessons, which gives the student a lot of useful things to practise. Highly recommended!
