About Tara
I completed a Bachelor of Music in String Performance before earning a Master of Music in Violin Pedagogy. Over the last 6 years, I have helped students rebuild confidence, refine technique, and achieve meaningful musical goals. My love for violin developed through years of study, performance, and collaboration with fellow musicians. Teaching became a natural extension of that passion because I enjoy supporting others in their artistic growth. Seeing students overcome challenges continues to motivate my work.
My teaching style combines patience, structure, and flexibility. I understand that every learner progresses differently, so lessons are adapted to individual needs and objectives. Technical development is balanced with musical expression to create a complete learning experience. Students receive personalized guidance that encourages confidence while maintaining steady progress. This approach helps create lasting motivation and stronger musicianship.
Outside teaching, I enjoy chamber music, score analysis, and exploring diverse violin repertoire. These interests continue to expand my understanding of music and inspire fresh lesson ideas. Watching students regain confidence after long breaks is one of the most rewarding aspects of teaching. I strive to create an atmosphere where learners feel comfortable and supported. My goal is to help every student rediscover the enjoyment and fulfillment that music can bring.

My violin lessons are especially valuable for students who want to rebuild skills, strengthen confidence, or reconnect with music after time away from playing. I focus on posture improvement, bow control, tone quality, intonation accuracy, rhythmic consistency, and expressive phrasing through patient and structured instruction. Learners are encouraged to progress steadily without unnecessary pressure. Lessons provide a supportive environment where mistakes become opportunities for growth rather than sources of frustration. This helps students develop confidence while strengthening essential skills.
To support long-term improvement, I incorporate open-string exercises, slow scale meditation, tone recovery work, and confidence-building repertoire. Students who experience performance anxiety receive guidance on preparation strategies, focus techniques, and positive performance habits. Lessons also include musical interpretation, ear training, and rhythm development activities that strengthen overall musicianship. Every activity is designed to support gradual but meaningful progress. Learners are encouraged to celebrate small victories along the way.
My goal is to help students enjoy playing violin while developing reliable technical abilities. As confidence returns, learners often become more motivated to explore new repertoire and performance opportunities. Lessons encourage patience, perseverance, and personal growth. Every achievement contributes to a stronger musical foundation. I want students to feel supported and encouraged throughout their learning journey.
